Time rushes on! Is that true for you, too, or is it just me? It seems like I just wrote the February blog a few days ago, but it is nearly three months past! However progress is being made!
- Some of our residents have returned to their families or moved on to other safe living arrangements. Others still at Y.E.S. have plans that are yet developing.
- We recruited additional staff to partner with Sarah whom we hired in December as a Personal Advisor (see job description on the Staff page). Michelle is a seasoned mom of grown children and will provide wonderful supplement to Sarah’s innovative style. She is spending two weeks in training before she begins as full paid staff this month.
- Volunteers Will White and Kristine Harder has joined the staff, and after training, will be helping us especially on the weekends, and other times as needed. Will and Kristine are full of energy and creative ideas for activities and outings for Y.E.S. residents, so we’re looking forward to getting out with them and experiencing our beautiful Gorge area during the summer months.
- United Way of the Columbia Gorge has awarded Y.E.S. $12,000 to bring on additional staff especially for the weekends. We are taking applications now.
