We'll Be Back Soon!

We've had to close temporarily while we have some upgrades done on the facility.

(Addendum: It has been brought to our attention that DHS Child Welfare is not the beaurocrat holding up the show, in fact they are very supportive of Y.E.S. in every way.  It has been very confusing trying to track down exactly what is needed. It seems that the problem has been with the State Fire Marshall's office, trying to sort out the appropriate classification of the shelter.  Phone calls and research have been flying back and forth trying to ascertain what exactly needs to be done.)  Thank you to those who have  made the effort to advocated for us already.

We hope to open again in May.
We are so sorry we're not there for you right now, but if we can get the beaurocrats in motion, we'll be back in operation in a few weeks.

When we get back on board you will be welcome  to stay for a short time (1 or 2 days) or a long time (a few months). You can come and take a break from whatever is going on; or you can come just to talk about what's going on and what options there are. To check in,  just come on in, or come with a  parent or a case worker or an uncle or a therapist or a teacher or a pastor . . .  or you can just bring yourself.

There are 3 qualifying criteria:
1 - you want to be here
2 - you are a  safe person for our household
3 - your parent or guardian or whatever says it's okay for you to stay.

514 E. 9th Street, The Dalles, OR

If you have a need of shelter, or know someone who does, give us a call at
541 993-4279.

It's totally voluntary - the CHOICE of a youth -
with consent of a guardian
